CLOGGING POLYMER FOR ARTIFICIAL LAKES AND PONDS.

Colmagel® was created in 1990, test since a time to find a product able to stop water losses from lakes and ponds
These lakes, when they are built by a confirmed company are expensive. They have aften some importtant losses of water. they are dry in summer, when farmers need water for their fields.
That’s why PROMAFOR has proposed a sucess to stop the losses, avoiding rebuilt the lake for a cheaper price.
USE
COLMAGEL is a mix of granular and powder polymers :
The granular polymer swells more than the 200 times its volume in presence of water. The water is Used as a clossing agent. The polymer make a structure with a foam rubber aspect.
We obtain a spectacular result : the water «grain» can reach a size of 2 to 3 centimers, able rebound if you through it on the ground.
A second sticking viscous blend of polymers make with the grains of water plates of several sqare meters and about ten liters.
All Together are sucked in by the cracks and the porosity. When they are inside, they continue to swell, the escape of water is stopped.
RESULT
The results are near 80% of succes. No other method can offer a similar result in a so short time (a few hours) and with a so cheap cost (nearly 205$ for 350 m²).
DESCRIPTION
COLMAGEL is commercialised in grains size 0,75 to 3 mm, in 25 and 5 kg bags (for 350 and 75 m² treatment respectively).
Note that it’s rare that all the lake area is treated. Only the areas having the most important riskq of losses receive the COLMAGEL, the dyke by example.
APPLICATION
The product is spread on the lake with hands or with a powdering machine. The concentration is near 75 g/m².
You have to use the product when the weather is quite : no wind, no rain, no waves and with a water temperatur up than +5°C.
